We’re here! We’re alive! I have just been one terrible blogger. Spending time indoors, at my computer, rather than enjoying the beautiful July sunshine is just a little crazy to me. Preston (finally) had a weekend so we made the most of it and spent time at the beach, where I got dunked by the waves at least three times and at Malibu where we went to our favorite place in the world – M cafe! I also got to meet up with my sweet friend Doris again to enjoy another favorite – Indian food!

Here is how we make life decisions in this family…
It starts with a little iced coffee…
And plenty of Internet research
Of course there is lots of discussion with this guy…
and more importantly, with this one as well.
Then there is plenty of serious, reflecting time.
All that to say, that things may be changing around here. 🙂 Good changes, great changes. It will take a few weeks to get the ball rolling, but as soon as we figure out our plan we will you know. One thing I will say is, from a girl who used to despise changes, I now look forward to them with such anticipation. I have no doubt this is due in large part to the sweet family I get to experience life, and it’s many changes, with.
I don’t have enough words to say how happy I was when I found out Doris was moving to San Diego. We went to high school together and she is, well, completely wonderful. And she loves food, antiques, food, festivals, food and shopping as much as I do. We have ongoing text, facebook and email conversations about all of the things we want to try in San Diego! First on our list was antique shopping in OB…
All of these pictures (and more!) are thanks to Doris! I can’t wait for our next date… Indian Food and beach?
My new schedule allows me time to enjoy the Farmers Markets on weekday afternoons and I couldn’t be any happier about it. My pink bike and I set out for an afternoon full of veggies and flowers, and I was so excited that my Canon would be accompanying us to the market… until the battery died. I was a little heartbroken, but thankfully I will be back there next week! Until then, here are the few pictures I snapped before the untimely battery issue.
Happy Friday! I am so looking forward to more fun San Diego activities this weekend!
My parents left and I miss them already. Fortunately, I get to see them in 3 short weeks! You would think that in the five years and many goodbyes since I have moved from Seattle, they would get easier. The only think I’ve gotten better at is not crying in the moment but rather saving my tears for the second they leave (lucky Preston ;)). We had so much fun with them. They spoiled us with infused olive oils, Napa wine, a Costco run and so much more. Preston spoiled us with brewery tours and a comp dinner. And I, uh, brought along my great smile?
I’ve never been a beer person, not even a little bit. But moving to San Diego and having SO many delicious craft beers everywhere, I have completely changed! Next on our list is Temecula wineries, which we will hopefully get to this month. 🙂
I love my sweet family. And I love cute blonde haired boys in matching outfits, hand-picking juicy strawberries, red-headed babies, beach days and of course, photos capturing all of the above.
Too much fun, I want to savor every minute. I will be back with more pictures tomorrow, hope your week is off to a great start!
