engagements

I can’t believe I never showed the rest of our engagements! We love them. Nikki of OliverBlue Photography was so amazing – we can’t stop singing her praises. Here are a few more photos from our fun session…

And the best news is, there will be more to come! We are doing another session with Nikki so that we can include our favorite family member, Sebastian, in some photos as well!

pumpkin picking

On Saturday, my sister and I took the little ones to Maris Brothers Farm for some fall activities. Have I mentioned how much I love fall? 🙂 It was a fabulous day – I am so thankful to be able to do fun things with my sweet family on a regular basis! If you are reading this and your name is Hannah, and you are my sister, and you instructed me not to post pictures of you on this post, stop reading… because I didn’t listen… but I really love you!

If pig races aren’t the cutest thing you’ve ever seen…

then surely this is.

Spider Man ready to go pick out the perfect pumpkin (he picked out the best one for his family, don’t worry I swooped up the second best for preston and I)

Please notice Remy’s perfect form, my crazy hair and alarmed face, Arianna’s look of pure joy mixed with a little bit of what-in-the-world-is-going-on? and of course, my mismatched and inside out socks.

I think I live my life in a permanent stage of cornfusion…

Emerging photographer, Remy Shae’s work is above.

It’s not a perfect autumn day without a pony ride!

Cheers to autumn days – hope yours are treating you fabulously!

catching up

I am a slacker, a terrible blog-land slacker. But in my defense, we have moved to a new state, started new careers, attempted to unpack our lives and enjoy our family, friends and fabulous new city. Overall, September was a wonderful month and October is shaping up to be even better! I am in love with Seattle living and am so happy to report that Preston is also 🙂

We moved into our new condo in West Seattle and we absolutely adore it. It is tiny, by far the tiniest we have ever lived in, but now that everything is organized (thank goodness – neither of us do well living in chaos, and by chaos I mean messes) we love it. I will certainly do a p+m home tour once I have finished decorating (which means I need to actually start that process!)
For now, to get caught up on pictures, here are photos of the drive from San Diego to Seattle which was absolutely amazing. We had so much fun making a little vacation out of the drive. Sebastian couldn’t have been happier being in such close quarters with us for a full 3 days….
Once we were all packed in,
We were ready to hit the road.
We stopped in San Francisco and ate devoured bread bowls,
enjoyed the scenery,
and attempted to acclimate ourselves to chillier weather!
After several more hours on the road, it was time for another stop at the Red Wood Forest! Hiking with us means its time for Sebastian to put on his fancy protective footware 🙂
It was SO beautiful, we were right next to the beach and to the forest – I was not in much of a camping mood (I got eaten alive by bugs this summer) but the scenery nearly changed my mind!
After the Red Woods, it was back on the road and one last quick stop in Portland to see Noam and his sweet family and then we were off to Seattle! I will catch up on our whereabouts this week!

moving woes

In the past 8 hours, I have been sprayed in the face by three month-old beer, said more un-grandmother friendly words that I have ever said in my life and snapped at Preston more than once. Moving clearly doesn’t bring out the best in me. But it will all be worth it! So worth it! The 17 trips to donate things to Goodwill, the large chunk of my checking account being gifted to the movers, bruises all over my body and the many poor brain cells I have killed from all of the harsh cleaning supplies – all worth it to be with our favorite people in our favorite city!

Thankfully, the end is in sight and we are doing dinner and drinks with friends tonight to relax after a very productive today. I hope your Labor Day was much more relaxing!

a little fun

In the midst of all this packing (not fun) we are switching things up and going to play with some of our favorite friends (fun!). Tomorrow we’re going to the USC tailgate (we’ll be attending the game too, but tailgating will clearly be the most important part of the day) with Justin and Kirsten! They got married a few weeks ago and had a beautiful ceremony and reception, here are a couple pictures of the fun we had…

If you couldn’t tell, I don’t trust myself enough to bring my Canon to any event involving drinks and dancing, so all above photos are courtesy of Preston’s phone.

fall dreaming

It is beautiful and sunny and amazing weather here in San Diego… but I can’t help but get excited about the nearing season. Autumn, here I come! And in Seattle nonetheless! So in the spirit of celebrating fall in the Pacific Northwest, here are some images of what I have been day dreaming about lately…

I can’t wait to put all my favorite fall trends to work in our new home!
